"The Tonight Show" host said "we can tell" the president came up with this latest idea all on his own.

The president on Tuesday proposed that the U.S. take ownership of Gaza and redevelop the war-torn territory into “the Riviera of the Middle East.”

“Trump wants to take over Greenland, Canada and now the Gaza Strip,” Fallon said Wednesday on “The Tonight Show.” “He’s like everyone at 2 a.m., drunk, ordering off Amazon. ‘I’m gonna add Gaza Strip to cart. I want Gaza Strip.’”

“Sources close to the president said it was Trump’s own idea,” he added. “Everyone was like, ‘Oh, we can tell.’”

Trump has only been in office a few weeks, and already, he’s floated taking control of Greenland, making Canada the 51st state of the U.S. and now resettling displaced Palestinians so the U.S. can take over the Gaza Strip. His proposals have drawn strong rebukes from the residents and allies of the places he’s targeted.
