NewJeans announces plans to appeal the court’s decision upholding the validity of their exclusive contract with ADOR.


 


NewJeans, the K-pop girl group, announced on October 30, 2025, their intent to appeal a Seoul court ruling upholding their exclusive contracts with ADOR until 2029, citing an irreparably broken trust that prevents resuming activities under the label.

The dispute originated in November 2024 amid a HYBE-ADOR scandal involving CEO Min Hee-jin's ouster, with NewJeans supporting her and alleging agency breaches like inadequate protection and promotion, marking their second lost appeal in this legal battle.

Fan reactions highlight empathy for the young members' emotional toll, alongside practical concerns over escalating legal costs—potentially millions in penalties—prompting calls for crowdfunding to support their fight for independence.
