A raccoon broke into an ABC liquor store in Ashland, Virginia, climbed the shelves, knocked over bottles, drank bourbon, got completely drunk, and eventually passed out in the bathroom. The entire incident was captured clearly on security cameras.


The Hanover County Animal Control team safely captured the raccoon, sobered it up, and released it back into the wild with no injuries.


The video has gone massively viral (the post by @CollinRugg has over 13K likes and millions of views). Comments are full of jokes like “dude made some poor life choices,” “he just wanted to forget 2025,” and “raccoon after one shot of bourbon vs me after one shot of bourbon.”
