Adele detailed annoying habit of Rich Paul that drives her crazy: "Why does it stop when it gets exciting?"
In many ways, Adele and Rich Paul are a study in contrasts. She is one of the most celebrated voices in the music industry, while Paul is one of the most powerful sports agents in the world. While both these worlds intertwine at some point, they operate on entirely different frequencies.
Still, love has a way of pulling opposites together, and Adele has never been shy about sharing what their connection looks like behind closed doors.
The Mirror reported on it in 2023.
The chart-topping singer gave fans a candid and unfiltered glimpse into her relationship with her fiancé, including the one thing about him that gets under her skin.
Adele understands Rich, but never his work
As different as they are, there are actually more similarities than one would think. The British vocal superstar is in a league of her own, selling over 120 million records. She is also one of the few artists to have won Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the Grammys multiple times.
Paul, meanwhile, sits across the negotiation table of the world's most powerful franchises in pro sports and walks away with the bag more often than not.
His client list is the who's who of the NBA's elite, including Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. That alone is enough to tell you everything you need to know about where Paul stands in the sports world.
Adele, for sure, knows it, but there are elements to it that are way beyond her grasp, particularly Paul's schedule and American football.
"My partner is a sports agent. He does basketball players and footballers. I'd been missing the football season, but I'm already f—ing sick of it. His whole weekend is just booked with just watching games," Adele opened up. "I just don't understand the game. And it's so annoying because I'm actually quite a clever person. And I really do like sports. I don't understand it. I just don't."
"Why did the whistle always get blown? Why is it four yards? Why is there inches? Why does it stop when it gets f—ing exciting?" she added.
Besides the rulebook and all, Adele is also rightfully worried about the players' health.
"I get so nervous about everyone's heads. I get so nervous. It's a bit like rugby as well. I get nervous watching rugby because of their heads," she stated. "I'm not the greatest wife really when it comes to football, even though my partner absolutely loves it. And I have to support the Cleveland Browns because that is who my partner's team is."
Not a football fan, but a fan of Rich
Even though Adele isn't a football fan and may never end up one, she has a soft spot for basketball.
She is often seen sitting courtside during Lakers games and even had one NBA-related meme moment that she felt compelled to explain in one of her shows.
While she may probably never understand football, she will always watch the Cleveland Browns with her man.
